Most Important – request full specifications from your signage contractor. This is usually supplied as a PDF.

If your signage production contractor does not supply a specification, then supply as following:

Double check all dimensions with signage contractor. Ensure you have them in writing, printed out and on your desk.

Discuss minimum image DPI specification with your signage contractor.

Set up all images in Photoshop at required DPI and final physical size required.

Use Effective PPI tool within Indesign and Illustrator to review image DPI to ensure it’s more than the minimum required for your job.

Use studio created PDF export functions (Indesign or Illustrator) set up for exporting PDFs and converting fonts to outlines.

Create one file per finished piece of signage.

Example
When producing vertical pull up banners that are all the same size, produce one PDF file per unique banner.

Supply an instructions.txt file in the Output folder with your contact details (email, phone number).

Supply a reference file that shows how the final signage should be assembled. Ensure it is labeled ‘REFERENCE-ONLY’ in the file name.
